R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Robert D. "Bob" Reed of San Antonio on September 11, 2003, at the age of 57, brought a great loss to the family, friends, and community of this esteemed individual; and WHEREAS, An attorney with the law firm of Plunkett & Gibson, Mr. Reed was a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and the U.T. School of Law and held a master's degree in law from New York University; and WHEREAS, Mr. Reed served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972; he married current San Antonio district attorney Susan Reed in 1974, and together they were blessed with one son, Travis Reed; and WHEREAS, This San Antonio native proudly served as president of the Fiesta San Antonio Commission in 2001-2002, demonstrating enthusiasm, passion, and visionary leadership in that prominent role; and WHEREAS, Bob Reed was a man of honor and integrity whose keen sense of humor and love for life inspired those around him, and although his loss will be difficult to endure, his spirit will live on through the many positive contributions he made to his community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Reed and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Susan Reed; to his son, Travis Reed; and to the many other relatives and friends of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert Reed.
