R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, After just four years of competitive water-skiing, Dakota Peterson of Kyle has shown himself to be a true champion, and his accomplishments are truly deserving of legislative commendation; and WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Dennis Peterson and Eileen Clegg Berry, this fine young man is an eighth grade honor student at Barton Middle School in Hays County; and WHEREAS, A three-time member of the South Central Region All-Star Team, he helped the team earn first, second, and third place, respectively, at the 2001, 2002, and 2003 U.S. Nationals; also, at the 2003 South Central Regional Championships, he won first place in Boys 3 Tricks and third place in Boys 3 Jump; and WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson was a member of the 2003 U.S. National Junior Development Team and has been selected as an alternate for the 2004 U.S. Junior National Team; notably, on September 21, 2003, he was filmed for a documentary on water sports that will appear at the Cannes Film Festival; and WHEREAS, Demonstrating superb talent and remarkable athleticism, Mr. Peterson has achieved excellence in the sport of water-skiing, and it is a pleasure to recognize him at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dakota Peterson for his achievements as a water-skier and extend to him best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Peterson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
