R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Father Walter E. Ebarb and the parishioners of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in San Antonio are holding their annual Fall Festival on October 5, 2003; and WHEREAS, This much-anticipated event offers visitors an array of tempting food booths, arts and crafts, games and rides, chances for raffle prizes, and music by a number of popular performers throughout the day's festivities; and WHEREAS, Proceeds from the church's biggest fundraiser of the year help provide for the maintenance and upkeep of the church as well as funding programs that benefit members of the church and the wider community; among the numerous programs and charitable efforts for which St. Patrick's clergy and laity have long been known are parenting classes, food and clothing for the needy, and the use of church facilities for meetings of community organizations; and WHEREAS, St. Patrick's Catholic Church has long been a source of comfort and hope for countless Texans, and through the funds generated by its Fall Festival, it is able to continue providing practical assistance to many of its parishioners and neighbors; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby recognize October 5, 2003, as St. Patrick's Catholic Church Fall Festival Day and that all those involved be extended heartfelt best wishes for a memorable and successful event; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
