H.R. No. 221



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for a 
celebration, and Reggie and Anne Gilbert of Longview marked this 
significant milestone with a family trip to Nova Scotia and Prince 
Edward Island; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Gilbert and the former Anne Slaughter were 
married on July 18, 1953, in Edgewood; the couple have enjoyed a 
happy and rewarding relationship throughout their marriage, and 
they have been blessed with two children and five grandchildren; 
and
	WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the couple are 
active members of the First Baptist Church of Longview; Mr. Gilbert 
is retired from Sun Oil Co., and Mrs. Gilbert has been a devoted 
wife, mother, and homemaker through the years; and
	WHEREAS, For five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert have shared 
many happy times and cherished family memories; their commitment to 
each other is a source of great pride to their family and friends, 
and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Reggie and 
Anne Gilbert on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and 
extend to them warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
