H.R. No. 225


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Alan Amos of Longview has been named the Gregg County Ducks Unlimited Man-of-the-Year for 2003; and WHEREAS, Ducks Unlimited, a global force in wetlands and wildlife conservation, addresses the habitat needs of waterfowl and other wildlife in North America by using advanced technology and research to conserve habitat efficiently and cost-effectively; and WHEREAS, A member of the Gregg County Ducks Unlimited committee since the mid-1990s, Mr. Amos has served the organization in a host of leadership positions, including banquet chairman and area chairman; in addition, he was a Ducks Unlimited Bronze Sponsor for three years and is in his second year as a Silver Sponsor; and WHEREAS, This intrepid hunter has taken great pleasure in the sport since his childhood, when he began accompanying his father on hunting trips, and he enjoys hunting ducks, geese, dove, quail, deer, and elk; and WHEREAS, Mr. Amos has been a tremendous asset to Gregg County Ducks Unlimited, and his efforts are truly worthy of recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Alan Amos on being named Gregg County Ducks Unlimited Man-of-the-Year and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Amos as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
