R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For the past 75 years, Henderson Memorial Hospital has provided exemplary medical care to the citizens of Rusk County, combining the sophistication and quality of a large medical center with the warmth and friendliness of a small-town community hospital; and WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1928, when local residents Dr. and Mrs. Reube Shaw donated the Wettermark home and property to the Henderson Hospital Association, this outstanding institution has grown from a modest eight-bed operation to a state-of-the-art, multimillion-dollar facility with more than 350 employees, including a superlative staff of physicians, nurses, and health care professionals; and WHEREAS, Henderson Memorial Hospital has played a critically important role in the lives of generations of Rusk County citizens; over the decades, the people associated with this institution have devoted themselves to meeting the ever-changing medical needs of the community, and the hospital's success is an enduring tribute to their hard work and compassion; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of Henderson Memorial Hospital and extend best wishes to its staff, directors, volunteers, and benefactors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Henderson Memorial Hospital as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
