R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly cause for celebration, and on May 29, 2003, Kyle and Beula Neill of Midland marked this momentous milestone in their lives with a family gathering at Green Tree Country Club; and WHEREAS, Mr. Neill married the former Beula Williams on May 29, 1943, at First Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas; through the years, their enduring relationship has served as an inspiration to a wide circle of loved ones and has been the source of much happiness and contentment for these two committed individuals; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Neill take great pride in their close-knit family of three children, Johelen Tower, Lessie Griffin, and Don Neill, and several grandchildren; and WHEREAS, In 1988, Mrs. Neill retired from JW Cooper Construction in Odessa, where she served as office manager and accountant; Mr. Neill retired from Shell Oil Company in 1979 after a career spanning more than 30 years, and he then worked as an independent consultant until 1986; and WHEREAS, The couple lived in Bryan and Odessa before moving to Midland in 1987; they have been active congregants of First Baptist Church in Midland and Odessa, and Mrs. Neill has been involved with Bible study; and WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have nurtured a strong bond of love and filled each other's lives with great joy, and it is a privilege to join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kyle and Beula Neill on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Neill as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
