R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In commemoration of their 50th wedding anniversary, 
Jim and Mary Lou Hamilton of Midland were guests of honor at a 
family dinner at Ranchland Hills Country Club; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Hamilton and the former Mary Lou Reynolds began 
their journey as husband and wife on May 14, 1953, in a ceremony 
held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church; through the years, 
their close and enduring relationship has served as an inspiration 
to their wide circle of loved ones and has been the source of much 
happiness and contentment for these two committed individuals; and
	WHEREAS, The heart of a close-knit family, Mr. and Mrs. 
Hamilton have been blessed with three children, Steve Hamilton, 
Charles Hamilton, and Kathy Carlton, and five grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Hamilton is retired from a career as a nurse, 
while Mr. Hamilton is employed as a consulting geologist; they are 
valued congregants of First Presbyterian Church; and
	WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have brought much 
happiness and contentment into each other's lives, and it is truly a 
pleasure to join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be 
it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jim and Mary 
Lou Hamilton on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding 
anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
