R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
celebration, and on May 17, 2003, Hartwell and Jo Ann Martin of 
Midland marked this significant milestone in their marriage in the 
company of their family and friends; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Martin and the former Jo Ann Stockton exchanged 
their wedding vows on May 26, 1953, in a ceremony held in Tuscola;  
through the years, the couple have shared a warm and rewarding 
relationship that serves as a source of inspiration for their loved 
ones, including their children, Kim Corbitt, Robbie O'Donnell, and 
Laura Phelps, and six grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Respected residents of their community, where they 
have lived since 1961, the Martins are retired from the Midland 
Independent School District and attend St. Paul United Methodist 
Church; and
	WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials 
and triumphs of five decades, and it is a pleasure to join in 
honoring their enduring union; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Hartwell and 
Jo Ann Martin on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding 
anniversary and extend to them sincere wishes for continued 
happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Martin as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
