R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In commemoration of their golden wedding 
anniversary, Richard and Pat Ivy of Midland were honored by their 
family and friends at a dinner and reception held on June 7, 2003; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Ivy and his bride, the former Patricia Skiles, 
were joined in marriage on June 7, 1953, in a ceremony held in 
Stamford, in Jones County; the couple have been blessed with a fine 
family that includes four daughters, Debbie Pool, Jerri Brandon, 
Shirley Stroud, and Lisa McCauley, in addition to nine 
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, The Ivys lived in Stamford before making their home 
in Midland; Mrs. Ivy is employed part-time with Flowerland, while 
Mr. Ivy worked with Borden's and ClayDesta, and is now employed with 
One Wall Plaza; and
	WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have brought much 
happiness and contentment into each other's lives, and it is truly a 
pleasure to join in honoring them on this momentous milestone; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Richard and 
Pat Ivy on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and 
extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ivy as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
