R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Williamson County Emergency Medical Service has been named the 2003 Paramedic Emergency Medical Service of the Year by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT); and WHEREAS, Presented annually by the NAEMT, this prestigious award honors EMS providers that demonstrate exceptional leadership within the profession and outstanding commitment to prehospital medical care; and WHEREAS, Williamson County EMS is a 98-member organization that provides distinguished emergency medical care to 300,000 residents of Central Texas; and WHEREAS, Actively raising community awareness, the group sponsors the annual "Shattered Dreams" event, which vividly demonstrates to high school students the dangers of drinking and driving; in addition, Williamson County EMS provides child safety seat inspections and helps to educate mothers on the importance of proper use of child safety seats; and WHEREAS, This fine organization has been duly recognized by the Texas Department of Health (TDH) for its laudable service to the people of Williamson County; within the past decade, the group has been designated by TDH as Best in State for Public Education and Injury Prevention, Best in State Public Provider of the Year, and Best in State for Administrative Excellence; and WHEREAS, Citizens of Williamson County can take comfort in the knowledge that the professionals of the Williamson County EMS are providing the highest quality emergency medical care, and it is a privilege to honor all those associated with this fine organization; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Williamson County Emergency Medical Service on being named 2003 Paramedic Emergency Medical Service of the Year and commend the many dedicated individuals involved for their resolute commitment to providing exemplary medical care; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
