R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mario Segura of Starr County has dedicated his
career to the advancement of medical care in Texas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Segura was appointed in the year 2000 to a
six-year term as a member of the Governors Emergency Trauma
Advisory Council where he serves today to enhance the delivery of
trauma care and nursing services across the state of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Segura, a life-long resident of Rio Grande City,
attended Rio Grande City High School and Pan American University;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Segura went on to study at the University of
Texas at Houston where he received a Master of Science degree in
Nursing (MSN) in Critical Care; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Segura serves as vice-chair of the Trauma
Regional Advisory Council of the Rio Grande Valley where he has
worked tirelessly to improve trauma and nursing care in the Rio
Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Segura has served as the Director of Nurses
since 1985 at the Starr County Memorial Hospital in Rio Grande City;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, Third Called Session, hereby congratulates Mario
Segura for his services to his community and the state of Texas and
for his many accomplishments in his public and private life; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mario Segura as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
