No. 275R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Bob and Dorothy Phillips of Quitman marked a special milestone in their lives when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2003; and WHEREAS, United in matrimony in Winnsboro, Mr. Phillips and the former Dorothy Galloway have shared an enduring union blessed with three children, twin daughters Brenda Hoffer and Glenda Brown and son Randy Phillips; over the years, they have proudly watched their family grow to include sons-in-law Michael Hoffer and Jack Brown, daughter-in-law Glorie Phillips, and four grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. Phillips worked for Humble Oil in East Texas and South Texas, and he retired from Exxon Company USA after 41 years of service; Mrs. Phillips also retired from Exxon with 30 years of service; they moved from Corpus Christi to Quitman, where they are valued members of the community and congregants at the First Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, For half a century, this devoted couple have nurtured a strong bond of love, filling each other's lives with many happy times and cherished family memories, and it is a pleasure to recognize all they have accomplished in their life together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob and Dorothy Phillips on the joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Phillips as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
