H.R. No. 280
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Albaro Gonzalez of Donna has been recognized for his
academic excellence with his receipt of a $2,000 scholarship from
the PacifiCare Latino Health Scholars program; and
WHEREAS, Funded by the PacifiCare Foundation, these
scholarships are designed to educate students about career
opportunities for Hispanics and Latinos in the health care
industry; to qualify, students must demonstrate a grade point
average of 3.0 or better and be fluent in Spanish and English; and
WHEREAS, A 2003 Donna High School graduate, Mr. Gonzalez is
attending Texas State Technical College, where he is studying
biomedical engineering technology; Mr. Gonzalez has been
interested in the medical field for many years and after graduation
plans to work maintaining hospital equipment and electronics; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez, one of only six students in Texas to
receive this award, undoubtedly has a bright and rewarding future
ahead of him, and it is a pleasure to honor him for this special
achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Albaro
Gonzalez on his receipt of a scholarship from the PacifiCare Latino
Health Scholars program and extend to him best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
