R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Robert "Robbie" Kent Martin of Alpine, on November 7, 2002, at the age of 27, deeply saddened the family and many friends of this esteemed young man, and it is most appropriate that we honor his memory at this time; and WHEREAS, Born on March 30, 1975, in Portales, New Mexico, Mr. Martin grew up in a loving Christian home headed by parents who answered the call to mission work, and he dedicated his life to Jesus; he graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, moved to Alpine in 1997 with his family, and was employed with the Martin Company; and WHEREAS, During his short time here, he reminded us that the ability to give and inspire love is not limited by age or time; this cherished young man was a true friend and was known for his compassionate heart and his impeccable manners; and WHEREAS, Although it is immeasurably painful to say goodbye to one so young, it is fitting to remember Mr. Martin's profound effect on the lives of those around him, and his unique spirit of caring and devotion will surely live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay special tribute to the life of Robert "Robbie" Kent Martin and extend sincere sympathy to his parents, Kent and Wynann Martin; to his grandparents, Harry and Ruth Pesnell; to his sisters and brother-in-law, Kim Daniel, Kerry Martin, and Kelly and Geno Springfield; to his nephew, Heath Daniel; to his nieces, Hannah Daniel and Sloan and Sadie Springfield; and to the other relatives and many friends of this exceptional young man; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert Kent Martin.
