R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Longtime Weslaco Independent School District (ISD) board member Dr. Robert Sepulveda has been named president-elect of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for 2003-2004; and WHEREAS, Dr. Sepulveda joined the TASB board in 1994, making vital contributions as vice president, secretary-treasurer, and committee chair and member; he has also presented sessions at the Summer Leadership Institute and has conducted workshops with the Rio Grande Valley School Boards Association; and WHEREAS, Dr. Sepulveda is the public health officer for the city of Weslaco; a doctor of internal medicine, he is the cofounder of the South Texas Annual Medical Education Conference, the founder and director of the Advanced Cardiac Life-Support Training Center at Knapp Medical Center, and the director for the First International Advanced Cardiovascular course in Matamoros, Mexico; and WHEREAS, This notable leader has provided steadfast support for numerous worthwhile organizations that benefit the citizens of the Lone Star State, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his outstanding service with the Texas Association of School Boards; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Robert Sepulveda of Weslaco on his selection as the Texas Association of School Boards president-elect and extend him best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Sepulveda as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
