R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In October 2003, the members of the Greater New Zion 
Baptist Church in Dallas are recognizing the contributions and 
accomplishments of the Reverend Joe S. Patterson; and
	WHEREAS, Since answering the call in October 1991 to lead the 
members of this historic Dallas house of worship, Reverend 
Patterson has diligently worked in behalf of his congregation and 
the members of the wider community; his unwavering leadership and 
powerful Bible teaching have generated membership growth, thriving 
ministries, and improved facilities for worship; and
	WHEREAS, A true friend to his church and the Dallas 
community, Reverend Patterson is always there to promote faith, 
hope, and understanding, helping others to surely navigate that 
daily miracle we call life; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Reverend Joe S. 
Patterson on his 12 years of dedicated service with the Greater New 
Zion Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best wishes for 
continued fulfillment; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Reverend Patterson as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
