H.R. No. 318



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On November 6, 2003, Liceth Castro will receive the 
Presidential Student Service Award at the 2003 Leadership Awards 
Gala in recognition of excellence in community service; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Castro and her coalition devoted 133 hours to 
several community service projects, including working with 
children from the Victorians Apartments and organizing a party and 
dance; in addition, group members planted 40 trees at Hermann Park, 
helped to organize a Drug Awareness Rally at their school, and 
served as mentors for students; and
	WHEREAS, The Presidential Student Service Award is a truly 
prestigious honor that is presented to only the most deserving 
recipients, and through her receipt of this coveted award, Liceth 
Castro has joined an elite group of public-spirited individuals; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Liceth Castro 
on her receipt of the Presidential Student Service Award and 
commend this exemplary individual for her commitment to community 
service; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Liceth Castro as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
