H.R. No. 319



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On November 6, 2003, Brittany Tran will receive the 
Presidential Student Service Award at the 2003 Leadership Awards 
Gala in recognition of excellence in community service; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Tran and her coalition devoted 100 hours to an 
array of community service projects, including collecting books and 
school supplies for the YMCA, working with a Vietnamese girls dance 
class, and participating in beach cleanups; the group also assisted 
with the Drug Awareness Rally, volunteered with the Alief-Houston 
Public Library, and provided support for a community service center 
that serves local nursing homes; and
	WHEREAS, The Presidential Student Service Award is a truly 
prestigious honor that is presented to only the most deserving 
recipients, and through her receipt of this coveted award, Brittany 
Tran has joined an elite group of public-spirited individuals; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Brittany Tran 
on her receipt of the Presidential Student Service Award and 
commend this exemplary individual for her commitment to community 
service; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Brittany Tran as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
