R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Thomas Samuel Dawson were greatly saddened by his passing on October 4, 2003, and we join them in mourning the loss of this beloved Pearland resident; and WHEREAS, A native of Alabama, Mr. Dawson was born January 24, 1933; after graduating from Excel High School, he served two years in the United States armed forces; and WHEREAS, This esteemed businessman had a distinguished 27-year tenure with Chemstrand, a subsidiary of Monsanto Chemical Company, and founded Technical Inspection Services, which he ran for nearly two decades; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dawson and his wife, Glenda, exemplified the tenets of mutual love, trust, and respect throughout their journey together, and their marriage was blessed with a daughter and two grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A devoted husband, loving father, valued colleague, and loyal friend, Tommy Dawson left an indelible mark on the community he was proud to call home, and his bright spirit will forever endure in the hearts of those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor the life of Thomas Samuel Dawson and extend sincere sympathy to his family: to his wife, State Representative Glenda Dawson; to his daughter, Delilah Saenz and husband Carlos; to his grandchildren, Lauren and Dawson Partridge; to his mother-in-law, Ruby Miles; and to the other relatives and many friends of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tommy Dawson.
