H.R. No. 343



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The passing of Inez "Chita" B. Leal of Edinburg on 
September 20, 2003, has brought a profoundly felt loss to the many 
friends and relatives of this much-loved woman; and
	WHEREAS, A longstanding and valued member of her community, 
Mrs. Leal was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who 
demonstrated kindness and compassion in every facet of her life; 
and
	WHEREAS, Though her presence is gone from us now, her memory 
will endure in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched 
during her years on this earth; at this time Representative Aaron 
Pena has chosen to commemorate the life of this wonderful Texan by 
authoring this resolution during the 78th legislative session; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of 
Inez "Chita" B. Leal and extend deepest sympathy to the members of 
her family:  to her husband of 59 years, Pete Leal; to her daughter 
and son-in-law, Irma and Gene Gutierrez; to her granddaughters, 
Alexis Inez Gutierrez, Maritza Gutierrez, and Selena Short; to her 
sister-in-law, Delia Sanchez Benavides; and to her many other 
cherished friends and relatives; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of 
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Chita Leal.
