R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Kay Pearson Harrison of New Braunfels
brought a great loss to the family and many friends of this beloved
woman who touched so many people during her life; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Harrison was raised in Austin and attended
Principia High School and Austin High School before continuing her
studies at Del Mar College and The University of Texas at Austin,
where she studied art history; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong Christian Scientist and a member of 1st
Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, she helped
found 8th Church of Christ, Scientist, in Houston with her husband,
Otto; she also devoted many years of her life to teaching art and
swimming, and started the Art League in Refugio; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Harrison was a devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother; she shared her life and her love with those around her,
and although she is missed by all who knew her, her spirit lives on
in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Kay Pearson Harrison and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
her family: to her husband, Otto; to her sons and daughters-in-law,
Matt and Sherry, Doug and Susanna, and Mike and Kristen; to her
daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Chris; to her mother, Jense
Pearson; to her sisters, Joan, Judy, and Patty; to her
grandchildren and nieces; and to the many other relatives and
friends of this beloved woman; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kay Pearson
Harrison.
