A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to personal financial statements filed by officers of 
certain local governments.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 11.064, Education Code, as added by 
Chapter 249, Acts of the 78th Legislature, Regular Session, 2003, 
is repealed.
	SECTION 2.  Section 145.001, Local Government Code, as added 
by Chapter 249, Acts of the 78th Legislature, Regular Session, 
2003, is amended to read as follows:
	Sec. 145.001.  APPLICABILITY OF CHAPTER.  This chapter 
applies only to a municipality with a population of 200,000
[100,000] or more.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the 
legislative session.
