SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Reverend Bob Miller on the occasion of his
retirement after 54 years of faithful service in the ministry;
and
WHEREAS, Reverend Miller began his ministry in 1949 at a
church in Pearsall, Texas; he subsequently served as a minister
in Granada from 1951 to 1953 and as pastor of the First Assembly
of God Church in Killeen from 1953 to 1966; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Miller established Faith Temple in
Killeen on his birthday, February 1, in 1967; he has been the
church's pastor for 36 years; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Miller and his wife, Barbara, have been
blessed with five children, 13 grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to helping others, this beloved pastor
has devoted his time and energy unselfishly to countless
Christians during his 54 years as a minister; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion,
Reverend Miller has inspired a number of people to answer the
Lord's call to the ministry; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, his guidance, prayers, and
counseling have brought hope and enlightenment to many in the
community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby join the members of
Killeen's Faith Temple in commending Pastor Bob Miller for his
fervent service to his ministry, his fellowman, and his community
and extend best wishes to him for the retirement years ahead;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
