SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Billy Lewis, who recently retired from his position
as chairman of the Navarro County Republican Party; and

	WHEREAS, Billy accepted the chairmanship six years ago at a 
time of turmoil in the party, and under his expert guidance, the 
Navarro County Republican Party organization has made great 
strides; and

	WHEREAS, As chairman, Billy became well known for his able 
leadership and his first-rate organizational skills; and

	WHEREAS, Dedicated to his work on behalf of the party, 
Billy Lewis has been a source of strength to other party members, 
and his presence as chairman of the Navarro County Republican 
Party will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Billy Lewis 
for his outstanding accomplishments during his tenure as chairman
of the Republican Party of Navarro County and extend to him best 
wishes for the future; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
