SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 31
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the University of North Texas as it inaugurates its new
alumni center on September 6, 2003; and
WHEREAS, The new 5,400-square-foot center will be home to
the North Texas Exes, the university's alumni association, and
will serve as a meeting place for the more than 4,000 association
members; and
WHEREAS, The existence of the center will allow the
North Texas Exes the opportunity to extend hospitality to other
alumni visiting their alma mater and host receptions for them,
their families, and the many friends of the school; and
WHEREAS, Situated on the east end of the Gateway Center
near the entrance to the campus, the new alumni center will be
located in an ideal site for a gathering place; and
WHEREAS, Through the work that the North Texas Exes will
carry out at the new alumni center, the University of North Texas
will be able to establish an enduring relationship with its
graduates and involve them in the school's many worthy activities;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the
University of North Texas on its endeavors to reach out to its
alumni through the new alumni center and extend best wishes for
a most enjoyable grand opening; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
