SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 96
In Memory
of
Henry Ybarra III
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Austin and Texans across the state in mourning the loss of Army Staff Sergeant Henry Ybarra III, who died on September 11, 2003, at the age of 32 while serving his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Ybarra was serving with D Troop, 6th Cavalry, near Balad, Iraq, when a tire on his military truck exploded; he had served in the military for 12 years; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Ybarra was a true patriot; while bravely serving his country in a foreign country during a time of extreme danger, he paid the ultimate price; his devotion and loyalty to his country are inspiring; and WHEREAS, A man of integrity and courage, Henry Ybarra was a devoted husband, father, and son, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Henry Ybarra III and extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family: his wife, Lilian Ybarra; his daughters, Alyssa and Gabrielle Ybarra; his son, Henry Ybarra IV; his mother, Mary Jane Hill; his father, Henry Ybarra, Jr.; his sister, Evette Ybarra; his brothers, Michael Ramirez and Anthony Ybarra; his grandfather, Henry Ybarra, Sr.; and his grandmother, Mary Davis; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Staff Sergeant Henry Ybarra III.
