SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 101
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Falun Dafa and to proclaim October 12, 2003, as
Falun Dafa Day in Texas; and
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa is a system of exercise and teachings
rooted in ancient Chinese culture which seeks to reduce stress
and improve health; the practice of Falun Dafa refines the body
and transforms the mind and spirit; and
WHEREAS, From October 10 to October 12, 2003, an
expected 2,000 Falun Dafa practitioners from across Texas and
around the world will gather in Houston to participate in an
Experience-Sharing Conference and to celebrate the seventh
anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa to the
United States of America; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa,
introduced this exercise and meditation practice to the public in
China in 1992; since then, the program has transcended cultural
and national boundaries, attracting more than 100 million people
in over 60 countries; and
WHEREAS, Since starting the practice, Texans who adhere to
the Falun Dafa system have experienced tremendous improvement in
physical and mental health, as well as in spiritual growth and
quality of life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the
followers of Falun Dafa for the many benefits they derive from
their practice and extend best wishes to all who are observing
Falun Dafa Day in Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for this special day as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
