SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 109

	WHEREAS, July 20, 2003, will be a day long cherished and 
remembered by Senator Rodney Ellis and Licia Green Ellis, for on 
that day their daughter Alena Steele Ellis was born; and

	WHEREAS, The beautiful baby girl arrived at 6:21 p.m.; she  
weighed seven pounds 11 1/2 ounces and was 20 inches long; and

	WHEREAS, Alena's safe arrival fulfilled her parents' 
dearest wish, and they are joyful over the birth of their new 
daughter; and

	WHEREAS, This blessed event has brought great happiness to 
Alena's family, and she has been heartily welcomed into the Ellis 
household by her parents, her brother, Leland, and her sisters, 
Nicole and Maria; and

	WHEREAS, It is indeed appropriate that the Texas Senate 
welcome this little girl as a treasured citizen of the
Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 
78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations
to Senator Rodney Ellis and Licia Green Ellis and best wishes for 
the future to Alena Steele Ellis; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the Ellis family as a memento of this event.
