SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 126
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Dallas in congratulating Brian A. Williams of Boy Scout Troop 788, who recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has brought honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state in earning the coveted Eagle Badge; and WHEREAS, Brian completed a service project that required him to exercise his leadership abilities and at the same time benefit his community; he and 40 other individuals organized a food drive to benefit the less fortunate in Dallas; they went door-to-door in his neighborhood, collecting 500 nonperishable food items; afterwards, they organized, boxed, and delivered the donated food to churches in Oak Cliff for use in emergencies; and WHEREAS, Few are privileged to be named among the ranks of the elite corps of Eagle Scouts; only two out of every 100 Boy Scouts earn this distinguished honor; and WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and promise, Brian advanced from Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes to Eagle Scout; he is truly an exemplary citizen of the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Brian A. Williams on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him on this great achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Williams as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
