R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, After an outstanding 36-year career with Chicago Bridge and Iron Company (CB&I), Bob Lewis of The Woodlands is retiring in March 2004, bringing to a close an exceptional tenure; and WHEREAS, Following his graduation from Texas Tech University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mr. Lewis entered CB&I's training program in 1968 and served as a contracting engineer throughout the 1970s and early 1980s in New Orleans, London, and Saudi Arabia, in addition to holding an array of important administrative positions in Oak Brook; and WHEREAS, This talented professional garnered several promotions before being named vice president of corporate business development; in this position, Mr. Lewis has deftly nurtured CB&I's worldwide business relationships, served as the corporate sponsor for a host of pivotal clients, and remained steadfastly focused on partnering activities, global marketing, and strategic account management; and WHEREAS, Not only an invaluable asset to CB&I, Mr. Lewis has shared his time and talents with his community as a participant in a number of civic activities; additionally, he is a commendable family man, deeply devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career that has spanned three decades and several continents, Bob Lewis has served with pride and distinction and proven himself to be a man of integrity and character in all aspects of his life; his efforts in the workplace and in the community have undoubtedly left a lasting impression on all who are privileged to know this exemplary man; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob Lewis on his retirement from Chicago Bridge and Iron Company; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Lewis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
