R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Viola Campos of San Antonio were profoundly saddened by the passing of this admirable lady on February 10, 2004, at the age of 94; and WHEREAS, A devoted and loving matriarch who deeply cherished her large family, Mrs. Campos was a valued member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and attended daily Mass for many years; some of her greatest joys in life included gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, and she especially enjoyed driving around town running daily errands with her niece and companion, May Minjares; and WHEREAS, Over the course of more than nine decades, Mrs. Campos had the privilege of witnessing some of the world's most significant events and advancements, and her family was truly blessed to share in her wealth of experience; and WHEREAS, A woman of strength, grace, and tremendous love for her family, Mrs. Campos positively and indelibly influenced the lives of those individuals who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Viola Campos and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her daughters, Julie Sanchez and Teresa Campos; to her sons, Feliciano Campos and his wife, Raquel, Marcos Campos and his wife, Minnie, and Jessie Campos and his wife, Irene; to her sisters, Julia Casias, Mary Zapata, Rita Perez, and Tomasa Guerra; to her 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Viola Campos.
