R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Honorable Frank M. Parker III is retiring in
2004 as mayor of Magnolia, after guiding the city through many
improvements in city services, infrastructure, and business
procedures; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Magnolia, Mayor Parker is
currently completing a second term as head of the municipal
government; outside of this office, he is an accomplished engineer
and professional consultant for occupational health, safety, and
environmental issues who also serves as vice president of
operations for Environment Technologies, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished Texan has given unstintingly of
his time and efforts in behalf of his community and the State of
Texas; in past years, he has served on the board of the Magnolia
Area Chamber of Commerce and as a city council member; he has also
shared his professional expertise as a member of the Texas
Department of Health Asbestos Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, A retired U.S. Air Force colonel, Mayor Parker has
brought to bear on his responsibilities in city government the same
sense of duty that characterized his career in the military, and the
citizens of Magnolia have benefited greatly from his sure
leadership; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the
Honorable Frank M. Parker III on the occasion of his retirement as
mayor of Magnolia and extend to him sincere appreciation for his
many years of dedicated public service; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mayor Parker as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
