R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Kennith Richardson of
Eldorado on October 13, 2003, at the age of 81, has deeply saddened
this beloved man's family and host of friends; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 16, 1922, in Cassville, Missouri,
Mr. Richardson later moved with his family to Seminole, Oklahoma;
he proudly served his country in the Pacific theater during World
War II as a member of the United States Marine Corps, performing the
duties of field lineman and switchboard operator; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Richardson met the love of his life, the former
Betty Ann Twibell, in Seminole, and they were married in 1945, when
he returned from military service; with her he enjoyed a happy and
committed relationship, and he became the patriarch of a fine
family that grew through the years to include two children and six
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan pursued a career with Sinclair
Oil Company that took him and his family to Garber, Drumright, and
Perry, Oklahoma, to Bairoil, Wyoming, and finally, in 1960, to
Eldorado; Mr. Richardson was later employed with the Atlantic
Richfield Company, the successor to Sinclair Oil, until his
retirement in 1983; and
WHEREAS, A deacon at First Baptist Church in Eldorado,
Kennith Richardson was a widely admired and respected member of his
community, and his memory will be forever honored by those who were
privileged to share in his love and friendship; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, pay tribute to the life of Kennith
Richardson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
family: to his children and their spouses, Dan and Kristi
Richardson and Gay and Charlie Adams; to his grandchildren, Nathan
Richardson, Paul Richardson, Kasey Leah, Kylie MacLellan, Chip
Adams, and Colt Adams; and to all who mourn the passing of this
cherished man; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kennith
Richardson.
