R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Marisol DeLeon has been named the Boys & Girls Club 
of Brazoria County 2004 Youth of the Year; and
	WHEREAS, A dedicated member of the Brazoria County Boys &
Girls Club since March 2000, Miss DeLeon was one of the leading 
developers of the club's Teen Court Youth Board and Appeals Board; 
having served as president of the Youth Board in 2002, she currently 
serves as president of the Boys & Girls Club of Brazoria County Teen 
Court; and
	WHEREAS, Miss DeLeon has completed more than 900 community 
service hours as a prosecuting attorney with the county's Teen 
Court program and has represented the state in more than 300 Teen 
Court trials; a talented public speaker, she has spoken to numerous 
organizations about the Teen Court program; this notable young 
woman has also been actively involved with the Keystone Club and 
with a peer mentoring program for truancy offenders; and
	WHEREAS, A student at Brazoswood High School, Miss DeLeon 
ranks in the top 10 percent of her class and is a member of the 
school's National Honor Society; in addition to her impressive 
academic achievements and her active involvement with the Boys &
Girls Club, this enterprising young woman still finds time to play 
violin in the school's orchestra and to work 20 to 30 hours per week 
at a local restaurant; and
	WHEREAS, An exceptional young lady of great poise and 
promise, Miss DeLeon demonstrates the initiative, dedication, and 
maturity of a born leader, and she is well on her way to a bright and 
promising future; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Marisol 
DeLeon on being named the Boys & Girls Club of Brazoria County 2004 
Youth of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for success 
in all of her future endeavors.
