R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Junior Girl Scout Bianca Pedraza of Mercedes has
awed her friends, family, and community by selling 1,018 boxes of
Girl Scout cookies in a two-week period; and
WHEREAS, Possessing enviable entrepreneurial skills for a
preteen, this valued member of Troop 191 displayed an extraordinary
ability to market these tasty treats, and harnessed her talents to
benefit a worthy program; and
WHEREAS, Her success exemplifies the best of Girl Scout
heritage and tradition, as she was able to glean important life
skills through her cookie-selling venture, including goal setting,
decision making, and money management; and
WHEREAS, During her three years in the organization, Miss
Pedraza has enjoyed camping, expanded her knowledge of such
interests as ecology and photography, and earned prizes for her
salesmanship; and
WHEREAS, This enterprising and energetic young lady has won
the respect and admiration of all who know her, and as she embraces
a future bright with promise, it is a pleasure to recognize Miss
Pedraza for her achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Bianca Pedraza for
her outstanding efforts in behalf of the Girl Scouts of America and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Miss Pedraza as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
