R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Mid-Valley Sports, owned by Haskel and Claudia 
Knight, first opened its doors for business in October 2003, and has 
already become a popular addition to the Weslaco business 
community; and
	WHEREAS, Since moving to Weslaco in September 2002, Mr. and 
Mrs. Knight, the parents of two active sons, experienced the same 
difficulties shared by other area parents who had to travel to 
Harlingen or McAllen to purchase sporting goods for their children; 
with more than 30 years' experience in the manufacturing industry, 
Mr. Knight decided to fill that unmet need and founded the business, 
which has expanded to sell school uniforms in addition to sporting 
goods and equipment; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Knight has acknowledged the store is more than 
just a business to him; having coached teams from all major sports 
throughout his life, he sees the store as a continuation of that 
involvement and relishes the opportunity to mix business with 
pleasure; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Haskel and 
Claudia Knight on the opening of Mid-Valley Sports and extend to 
them best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Knight as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
