R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, February 24, 2004, was indeed a special day for 
Jerry Patterson, commissioner of the General Land Office, and his 
wife, Jennifer, for it marked the birth of their twins, Samantha 
Kate and Cole Alexander; and
	WHEREAS, The darling duo were no doubt the center of 
attention among staff and patients alike when they were born at St. 
David's Hospital in Austin; the dainty Samantha weighed about 5 
pounds when she made her debut, while her strapping brother, Cole, 
weighed 7 pounds at birth; and
	WHEREAS, Blessed with a double dose of charm, Samantha and 
Cole will surely thrive within the warm embrace of loving parents, 
extended family, and friends--a circle that will undoubtedly 
nurture them throughout their lives; and
	WHEREAS, The birth of a child is always a joyous occasion, and 
it is a great pleasure to formally recognize these two new citizens 
of the Lone Star State and to honor their delighted parents; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby officially announce the 
births of Samantha Kate Patterson and Cole Alexander Patterson and 
extend heartfelt congratulations to their parents, Commissioner 
Jerry Patterson and Jennifer Patterson, on the births of their 
daughter and son; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Patterson twins and their parents as an expression 
of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
