R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, April 2004 marks the 75th pastoral anniversary of the Reverend Dr. C. A. W. Clark, Sr., the beloved pastor of Good Street Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas; and WHEREAS, Outstanding spiritual leadership, compassionate guidance, and strong faith have been the cornerstone of Reverend Clark's service to the members of Good Street Missionary Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his impressive tenure of 54 years with the church, he has implemented a number of outstanding programs designed to provide emotional and spiritual support to those in need, including the Department of Christian Education, the Ambassador Young Peoples Department, and Christian Education for Mental Retardation; and WHEREAS, In addition, Reverend Clark has led initiatives to establish a permanent blood bank depository for his congregants, a clinic to provide local residents with free legal advice, a federal credit union with more than $1 million in assets as well as the Good Haven Apartments with 332 units, and a multipurpose community center; he also lends his time and talents to a host of worthy organizations, serving as a life member of the National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc., president of the Baptist Missionary & Education State Convention of Texas, and a member of the Baptist Ministers Union; and WHEREAS, The Reverend Dr. C. A. W. Clark, Sr., has been a blessing in the lives of countless people during his years of dedicated service in the ministry, and he remains an inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor the Reverend Dr. C. A. W. Clark, Sr., on his 75th pastoral anniversary and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Clark as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
