                                                                  H.R. No. 119



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Texans place great value in the importance of 
community service, and it is a pleasure to recognize nine very 
special individuals who adhere to this philosophy and have had a 
profound impact on the community they are proud to call home; and
	WHEREAS, The Epsilon Chapter of Eta Phi Beta Sorority hosted 
its fourth Unsung Heroes Luncheon on April 24, 2004, to honor those 
Dallas citizens who have brightened the lives of others through 
their many good works but have not yet received the recognition they 
deserve; and
	WHEREAS, The following individuals are this year's Unsung 
Heroes:  Don Wayne Deramus, Devonne Graghn Foutz, Selmore Haines 
III, Mildred Johnson, Mary Luckey, Vernell McCall, Mildred Pope, 
Floyd Earl White, and Mary N. Williams; and
	WHEREAS, These honored citizens continue to provide 
leadership and serve as role models and genuine trailblazers in 
their respective fields, encouraging young people that they too may 
find success in their own lives and turn their dreams for the future 
into reality; and
	WHEREAS, While these remarkable individuals have all made 
their own unique contributions to their community, they share a 
kind and compassionate nature, and their generosity in behalf of 
others will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor the Eta Phi Beta 
Unsung Heroes and commend them for their myriad efforts in behalf of 
their fellow citizens; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for each honoree as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
