R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Judith A. Guilbeaux from Dallas's J. W. Ray Learning Center marks the culmination of an exceptional career in education; and WHEREAS, Ms. Guilbeaux began her distinguished tenure 37 years ago as a teacher in Chicago; since walking into her first classroom, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that each of her students receives the best educational, emotional, and social support that their schools could offer; and WHEREAS, After her time in Chicago, Ms. Guilbeaux worked as a reading specialist in Detroit before moving to the Lone Star State, where she taught in the talented and gifted programs at Dallas's Hogg Elementary and Pearl C. Anderson Learning Center; not only adept at teaching, Ms. Guilbeaux proved her natural ability to inspire teachers to teach well as an assistant principal at Urban Park Elementary and most recently as principal of J. W. Ray Learning Center, a position she has held for the past 12 years; and WHEREAS, During her time as principal, J. W. Ray Learning Center has thrived; the school has been honored with the prestigious "recognized" status for four consecutive years, a testament to Ms. Guilbeaux's stellar leadership; and WHEREAS, Chosen to carry the 2002 Olympic Torch, Judith A. Guilbeaux is an individual whose warmth and concern for others set a notable example for students, faculty, and staff, and her legacy of excellence will continue to benefit the J. W. Ray Learning Center for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Judith A. Guilbeaux for an outstanding career as an educator and extend to her sincere best wishes for a happy retirement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Guilbeaux as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
