H.R. No. 125


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Region II, held its first annual Regional Spring Classic golf tournament on April 21, 2004; and WHEREAS, The inaugural edition of this charity event took place at Big Cedar Country Club in Fairfield, and proceeds of $11,805 were presented to Special Olympics Texas; and WHEREAS, Numerous businesses and individuals contributed to the overall success of the tournament, and their generous donations and sponsorship will undoubtedly benefit many young people; and WHEREAS, Robert J. Parker and the rest of the Region II staff volunteers helped to make this event a great achievement, rallying support in the community and raising funds for a worthy cause, and their efforts are most deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Robert J. Parker and his fellow staff members for their outstanding work on the first annual Regional Spring Classic golf tournament in Fairfield and extend best wishes to them for success in their future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Region II staff of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
