R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a special occasion in the lives of two people, and Charles "Buzz" and Marcella Comfort of Longview commemorated this milestone on April 17, 2004; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Comfort were married on April 17, 1954, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; over the years, their family has grown to include three treasured children and their spouses, Mark Comfort and his wife, Cindy, Matt Comfort and his wife, Kim, and Kathryn Comfort and her husband, Phil; the couple have also been blessed with five cherished grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Comfort served this country for 22 years as a member of the United States Air Force and subsequently worked for Stroh's Brewery; Mrs. Comfort was employed in law offices for 32 years and spent the last two decades of her career, before her retirement in 1996, with the Longview firm of Brown McCarroll; and WHEREAS, The Comforts celebrated their 50th anniversary at a reception hosted by their family and held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, and the festivities continued afterward with a family dinner; and WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. Comfort are also valued congregants at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; and WHEREAS, For five decades, Buzz and Marcella Comfort have built a relationship on a foundation of love, trust, and mutual respect, and their marriage is a continual source of pride and inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Buzz and Marcella Comfort on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Comfort as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
