H.R. No. 205



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, New Hope area residents Eugene and Frances Belk 
commemorated a milestone in their long and joyful union with the 
celebration of their 70th wedding anniversary on March 2, 2004; and
	WHEREAS, United in matrimony in 1934, after a four-year 
courtship, the Belks have since enjoyed a marriage filled with 
love, trust, and mutual respect; and
	WHEREAS, In 1936, the happy couple opened Oak Cliff Floral 
Company and watched with pride as their venture prospered over the 
ensuing 38 years; a family tradition, the business is now operated 
by the Belks' daughter Iris and son-in-law Charles; and
	WHEREAS, The enduring union of Eugene and Frances Belk 
remains a source of joy and inspiration to the friends and family 
with whom they have shared the bountiful richness of their lives; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Eugene and 
Frances Belk on their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for them as an expression of high regard by the Texas House 
of Representatives.
