R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ann-Marie Saleh of Lamesa was recently named Miss
West Texas, and she will undoubtedly represent her fellow citizens
with dignity and grace in the 2004 Miss Texas pageant; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Sam and Sylvia Saleh, this lovely
young woman is truly a source of great pride for her parents and her
many friends in the community; and
WHEREAS, Currently completing her undergraduate studies in
agricultural communications at Texas Tech University, Ms. Saleh
plans to attend the Texas Tech University School of Law in the fall
and hopes to one day become a corporate attorney specializing in
investments and financial planning; and
WHEREAS, This talented young woman is a member of Golden Key
National Honor Society, the Student Government Association, and
Mortar Board, and she has been named to Who's Who Among Texas Tech
Students and as a USA Today All-Around Student Nominee; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Saleh will now go on to compete in the 2004 Miss
Texas pageant, where her platform issue will showcase the speaking
program she founded, C.E.N.T.S. to Save, which encourages young
people to save money to help them meet their goals; and
WHEREAS, Blessed with a keen mind, a warm personality, and
natural charm, Ms. Saleh indeed faces a bright and promising
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Ann-Marie
Saleh on being named Miss West Texas 2004 and extend to her sincere
best wishes for future success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Saleh as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
