H.R. No. 214


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On March 1, 2004, the members of Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Church in Houston celebrated the installation of Pastor Dalton W. Glenn, Jr.; and WHEREAS, In Pastor Glenn the church has found an able preacher and a stalwart friend for the work of the ministry; this highly regarded man of faith, who became the senior minister at Morning Star in December 2003, is only the third spiritual leader to guide the church; he follows Bishop Larry Donnell Leonard and the church's founder, the Reverend M. O. Bell; and WHEREAS, Since its organization on February 14, 1956, as Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, with 14 charter members, the congregation has been blessed in membership, in spirit, and in material resources; today, led by Pastor Glenn, the church continues to move ahead with the vision "Operation Restoration: Rebuild, Reclaim, Move Forward to Inhabit the Land"; and WHEREAS, In accepting the call to the pastorate of Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Church, Pastor Glenn begins an exciting new chapter in his life, and he indeed deserves special praise as he celebrates this joyous milestone; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Pastor Dalton W. Glenn, Jr., on his installation as pastor of Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and fulfillment; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Pastor Glenn as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
