R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Dr. Gary Jones on April 30, 2003, at the age of 48, brought a great loss to the many friends and relatives of this esteemed San Angelo resident; and WHEREAS, Dr. Jones graduated from San Angelo Central High School and attended Angelo State University before earning his doctorate of dental surgery from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio; and WHEREAS, In 1981, he started his dental practice in his hometown and quickly gained the trust and respect of his many patients; well regarded for his professionalism, hard work, and dedication, he was selected to serve as president of the local dental society from 1997 to 1998; and WHEREAS, This notable Texan was an avid golfer and sports fan who enjoyed playing a round with his friends at the San Angelo Country Club and lending his time and talents as a coach of YMCA football, basketball, and baseball; and WHEREAS, Despite his many professional and social commitments, Gary Jones was above all else a devoted husband, father, and friend, and though he will be deeply missed, his memory will long endure in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor the life of Gary Jones and extend sincere sympathy to his family: to his wife, Terri; to his children, Michael, Brian, and Jenna; to his parents, Dennis and Betty; and to the many other relatives and friends of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gary Jones.
