R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 90th birthday is truly cause for a celebration, and on February 6, 2004, Lizzie Jackson Hooper of Houston was honored at a memorable dinner among her loved ones in recognition of this special milestone; and WHEREAS, A dedicated and hardworking mother of eight, Mrs. Hooper raised her children in a single-parent home and became an inspirational role model to her sons and daughters; she takes great pride in her children, who have gone on to successful careers in such fields as business, the military, nursing, and public service; and WHEREAS, Deeply interested in her community, Mrs. Hooper faithfully goes to the polls on each election day and urges young people to make the most of every educational opportunity; moreover, she is a proud homeowner and is known for offering a helping hand to her neighbors; and WHEREAS, This beloved woman holds the respect and admiration of all who are privileged to know her, and she may reflect with joy on all she has accomplished in her full and generous life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Lizzie Jackson Hooper on her 90th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Hooper as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
