R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, James Baker of Waco recently received the Jimmy Fox 
Memorial Firefighter of the Year Award, and this prestigious honor 
is indeed worthy of special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Nominated and selected for the accolade by his 
peers, Mr. Baker has served the Waco Fire Department with 
distinction for 28 years; and
	WHEREAS, A positive role model, a constant source of 
benevolence, and a friend to many, Mr. Baker has given of his time 
and talents to a host of worthy organizations; a regular volunteer 
with Habitat for Humanity and youth sports, he also works closely 
with the Muscular Dystrophy Association; and
	WHEREAS, The enthusiasm and dedication James Baker has 
exhibited in his tenure with the Waco Fire Department have made him 
an inspiration for his fellow firefighters and for all Texans, and 
it is a genuine pleasure to congratulate him at this time; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend firefighter James 
Baker for his contributions to the city of Waco, congratulate him on 
being named Firefighter of the Year, and extend to him warmest best 
wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Baker as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
