R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Olivia Marie Harrison Dixson on
January 3, 2004, at the age of 77, brought great sorrow to the
family and friends of this beloved woman; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Dixson was born on May 18, 1926, in Taylor, the
daughter of proud parents Clarence Harrison, Sr., and Laura
Anderson Sandford; and
WHEREAS, In 1952, she married Willie Dixson, with whom she
would share her life for over 50 years; a devoted wife and mother
throughout her years on this earth, she nurtured and sustained her
two children, Henry and Debra, with loving care, insight, and
wisdom; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Dixson cherished her Christian faith and was a
valued congregant of the Fort Sam Houston Main Post Chapel for many
years; and
WHEREAS, This warm and gracious woman was a caring friend to
many, and while she will be missed, her spirit will live on in the
hearts and minds of all those whose lives she touched; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay special tribute to the
life of Olivia Marie Harrison Dixson and extend sincere sympathy to
her family: to her husband, Bill Dixson; to her son, Henry Dixson;
to her granddaughter, Veronica Li; to her great-grandson, Kamui
Alexander Li; to her sister, Laura Lewis; and to her other relatives
and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Olivia
Dixson.
